ASSISTANT GUEST SERVICES MANAGER

Full-Time Employment

Basic Function and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

To support the museum’s core ideology and focus on the guest experience by giving guests the highest level of guest service. This individual will support the Director of Guest Services in hiring, cross training, supervising, orientation and permeability of all guest services staff.  They will provide quality, timely and accurate support of all guest services operations including Ticket Office, Omni Theater, and Exhibit Galleries. They will help the Guest Services staff set the tone for a positive experience for our guests, as well as, team members that report directly to this position.  Reports to:   Director of Operations

  • Support Direct of Guest Services in supervision and leadership of all Fort Worth Museum of Science and History Guest Services team members. This includes hiring, training, scheduling, management, development, and evaluation of team members, in all areas.

  • Must be able to perform all Ticket Office responsibilities and cash transactions such as deposits, reports, balancing of safe and any other areas assigned in Ticket Office

  • Keep track of ticketing inventory and admission passes, as well as create admission pass rotations

  • Be informed and able to communicate to staff of all types of coupons and vouchers

  • Must be able to perform and train all functions of Cashier, Usher, and Gallery Host

  • Work as a Guest Experience Host including the positions of Cashier, Omni Theater Usher, and Gallery Host as needed

  • Work closely with the Advanced Sales, Membership, Building Services, Accounting, HR, Guest Programs, and Education Departments to ensure goals and expectations are being met

  • Serve as an example and provide a superior level of guest service by being a positive role model in punctuality, appearance, attitude, and performance.

  • Have knowledge of and be able to share information pertaining to the Museum as well as other entities in the Cultural District

  • Enforce set Museum standards for guest relation policies by assuring guest safety and security, and by keeping operations efficient

  • Know, follow, and help instill the Museums Show Quality Standards in others

  • Lead guest operations including supervision, training, learning and practicing emergency procedures, and radio functions

  • Knowledge and proficient in Patron Edge ticketing system, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Proficient in communicating ideas and new materials to large part-time team

  • Ensure consistent and continuous guest services training of all Guest Services team members

  • Assists Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer in the continual improvement of Guest Services Operating Procedures

  • Perform other duties as requested by Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer

Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience needed

  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Some college preferred

  • Point of Sale system experience (Patron’s edge a plus)

  • Cash Handling experience preferred
